What I Spend In A Month | April 2025

by

Hi! Here’s everything I spent in April as a childless, middle-aged woman living in Athens, Georgia:

  • I pay $750 for my basement apartment which I lovingly call the Lair. This covers rent, utilities and internet.
  • Healthcare came to $193. This is anything connected to my doctor, dentist, therapist, or medications.
  • I spent $31 on transportation – just gas and a car wash
  • $172 on my cat, Agent Cooper

  • My groceries came to $117. Unfortunately, I waited to long to remember exactly all I bought but here’s what the trips broke down to:
    • Kroger $29.42
    • Asian Supermarket $12.57
    • Walmart $4.95
    • Sam’s $9.45
    • Aldi $60.17
  • Eating/drinking out was $84. This category does not include food I got while traveling — that’s in the travel category.
  • $63 for cloud storage and Adobe software.
  • $100 on shopping. I bought a birthday gift, a baby shower gift, some pens, my new favorite pair of boots, movies, and scored all sorts of cool shit at the best yard sale of all time
  • $0 on entertainment.
  • $507 on travel. We went to Paris and Dijon France this month! I bought my plane ticket and hotels in previous months so this was just food, transportation, and activities. I also entered the Congaree synchronous firefly lottery but did not win.
  • Nothing for my phone this month because I pay that bill once a year.
  • I currently do not have any paid subscriptions and I no longer have student loans.
  • This brings my total expenses to $2,041.
  • Coming in, I made $2,768. That’s $2,483 from work in a two paycheck month and $284 from a birthday gift from my mom and cash back on my credit card.

I put:

  • $100 into my Roth IRA
  • $150 into my high yield savings account
  • and lobbed the rest at my credit card.

This was a really good month with lots of fun, free things like a hockey match (The Rock Lobsters!), lots of live music, and lots of movie screenings. Every day, I’m thankful to live here. And that’s everything for April 2025!
