This part of my blog probably feels disconnected from travel because it’s where I’m putting all my “life hacks.” But to travel you need time and money, so I hope this might be helpful… or at least interesting!
Time / Planning
The joy of travel for me is three-part: planning the trip, being on the trip, and organizing all my photos and notes from the trip after. I get that planning isn’t super fun for a lot of us, but maybe my lists can save you some time!
Money / Budgeting
For the average American, personal finance is about 80% stuff you can’t control (like job security, economic conditions, and market fluctuations) and 20% stuff you can (like budgeting, saving, and investment choices). I do not believe someone can simply budget their way out of poverty, and I get that participating in our brutal economic system is challenging. But I still think it’s worth it to build up some choices. Hopefully these posts are fun for my fellow finance freaks and encouraging for anyone who, like me, only recently decided to take a look at their money. 😅
If you’d like to send a little $$ my way, feel free to use one of my affiliate links. I get a small commission at no cost to you. These are all companies I personally use.
- Booking.com: book hotels
- Agoda: book hotels (this had the best prices for hotels in Thailand)
- Expedia: book flights, hotels, cruises, and car rentals
- Tripadvisor: book hotels
- 12Go: book ground and water transport services in Southeast Asia and Oceania
- Mint Mobile: my phone. Way cheaper than the phone plan I used to be on.
- Sofi: my bank. We have to live in this economic system. Might as well have a bank with a high yield savings account and no minimums.
